Holy Rosary School began in 1891, by Father Eversmann who asked a group of Benedictine sisters who to make Tacoma their home. Father knew that Catholic education was essential for the Pacific Northwest, and Holy Rosary School opened that year as the first Catholic Elementary School in Washington.
We are proud of the tradition of excellence in academics, spiritual growth, character and service that began with Father Eversmann more than 110 years ago. As we look back over the years at the challenges we've faced together, it is apparent that we must plan to secure the future of Holy Rosary School.
Our development efforts focus on educating and involving our community in the long-term success of the school. The office is responsible for the Annual Fund Drive, SHARE Auction, an Endowment fund, Planned Giving, and our Golf Tournament. It also orchestrates all recruitment efforts, including public relations and marketing the school. Your generosity means strong academic and spiritual programs, equitable teacher salaries, accessible tuition and financial stability for Holy Rosary School.

ANNUAL FUND DRIVE
Each year, the school's finance council sets a goal for the Annual Fund Drive. The Drive involves a letter and phone campaign. You are always free to contribute to the Annual Fund Drive. Please call the office at 272-7012
SHARE AUCTION
This year, our SHARE Auction will consist of two nights. The Family Auction Night is scheduled for Friday, April 30, 2009, while the Gala Event will take place on Saturday, May 1st, 2009 beginning 5:30pm in the school auditorium.
The Holy Rosary Endowment Fund began in 1993 due to the foresight of our School Commission and Parent Club. Currently, our endowment is valued at more than $130,000. Planned Giving have added to our endowment. All gifts in memory of a loved one can be deposited into this fund, where they will "live forever."
Our endowment goal is $1 million. When the fund reaches that level, Holy Rosary School will be able to use a portion of the interest to provide scholarships and support the day to day operations of the school, thereby keeping tuition lower for everyone. An endowment fund of $1 million would provide at least $45,000 per year to the school.

Planned Giving is one of the most important ways you can support the quality Catholic Education offered at Holy Rosary School. Usually, this gift begins with a well thought-out will where you can give a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your assets, stock options or even real estate to the charity of your choice. This can be done by asking your attorney to add your charity into your will.
